”Juggling can happen in video games in two different ways. Either the game itself is built around a concept that can be seen as juggling or it’s about something totally different, and people find ways to do useless juggling within it, just for fun.”
An example of what you end up doing with juggling inspired by video games, with Éric Longequel & Jonathan Lardillier (www.lexpedition.org):
And the videos of the examples cited by Eric in the article:
Ball, the very first game released in the Game and Watch series, is the most obvious juggling game.
If you drop, you lose.
In Kaizo Mario World 2, one Yoshi and one throw block juggling.
If you drop, you die.
The Game and Watch series have a few juggling games. In Fire, two firemen bounce people jumping from a building on a safety net.
If you drop, they die.
In Mario Maker 2, you must pass a Goomba to your co-player as you bounce off Monty Moles.
If you drop, you both die.
Arkanoid, a brick breaker in which you can get a three balls power-up.
You can drop only twice, or you die.
In the wonderful Celeste, you get to use a jellyfish to float and transport your character, Madeline.
Juggling the three jellyfishes is not necessary, just a pure work of art.
